6) Check if IP is blocked (optional)

Like Vultr, the cheap servers will be used by some people to take the ladder software, resulting in some servers ip address by the domestic Great Firewall (GFW) blocking. One of our customers server ip address is blocked, resulting in not over the wall to log on, but also can not use some of the functions of the domestic plug-ins, change ip after the return to normal. So it is necessary to ping the ip first, ping can not be deleted to re-rent a (or change ip).

Ping method: Right click on the Windows logo at the bottom left corner of your computer > click "Run" > type "cmd" and press "OK".

If your server has already built a website or something that you don't want to discard, you can change the IP to unblock it and keep the data at the same time. Below is the official IP change method given by Vultr, which is tested and available. The approximate method is 1- take a snapshot backup of the previously rented server (see the backup section below for details); 2- rent a new server and select Snapshot in the step of selecting the system, it will show the previously completed snapshot backups, click to select it, and the other registration steps remain unchanged. As long as the domain name is resolved to the new server IP, you can continue to use the previous URL to login/open the website, pagoda panel and so on. 7) Run scores to the server (optional)

3) Modification of information

4) Upgrade server configuration

First, click into the "Products" section, in the server list interface, click on the corresponding server, and then go to "Setting" > "Change Plan", as shown below.green boxFor the host's current package configuration, select the target package configuration in the red box, and click the "Upgrade" button to upgrade the configuration.

5) Data Backup

Always do a data backup! It is recommended to do both station backups (UpdraftPlus) and server backups. Station Backup is free and can restore specific data from a specific site individually, Snapshots Backup can still restore the entire server in case of server deletion/damage (forget to renew and get deleted or hacked), and has the highest security. One of our servers only hosts 2 new sites, although there are no articles and products, but the snapshot backup data has been 4.24GB, and we have to pay $0.212 a month. Normally, a small or medium-sized website should have 200~400M of articles + product images.

If Elementor is the cause of the jam, it is likely that the process of building the page has encountered an error and is stuck in a dead loop. In this case, set each page built with Elementor to draft status (equivalent to disabling the page) until the problem recovers.

Also try Debug to see if there is an error in the plugin/theme that is causing the jam.

Database / PHP version is too high will also increase the server load, jamming situation. PHP is currently the highest recommended to install version 8.0, 8.1 many plug-ins theme is not compatible with a lot of errors, resulting in lagging.

1-2G RAM is recommended to install database MySQL version 5.6, Extreme Installation. 2-4G RAM is recommended to install version 5.7, Extreme Installation. 8G or above is recommended to install version 8.0, Compile Installation.

2) The website suddenly does not open

If the entire site, including the pagoda backend, won't open, it's usually because the server has been in arrears for too long (a month or so) and has been deleted by the merchant. Log in to the Vultr.com server backend and go to billing to check your balance. If your account is closed when you log in or your billing balance shows "Owe", then you have a problem with your website due to unpaid fees.

       

Weekly emails are sent to remind you to pay when you are in arrears, but most people don't have the habit of checking their emails regularly or the emails go into the spam folder resulting in overdue payments.

Solution: Charge your account right away if you can log in, and the site will automatically recover after a few hours (sometimes longer).

If your account is closed and you can't log in, use the same email address as the registered server to send an email to support@vultr.comThe email content just says forget to renew your account and it will be deleted from the server. Email content as long as said forgot to renew the server was deleted, trouble to help activate the account we immediately charge money into, customer service will be very happy to help. Dear Vultr.
My account (this email address) has been closed because I forgot to renew, can you please help activate it so I can pay the bill and restore my site.

After the server is restored, an email notification will be sent to you (check your email), so log in and charge it immediately. Follow the above tutorial to re-open a server, in the step of selecting the system, select Snapshot, it will show the previously completed snapshot backup, click on it to select it, the other registration steps remain unchanged. After the new server is rented, it will have all the content of the old server, including websites, pagoda panels and so on. As long as the domain name is resolved to the new server IP, you can continue to use the previous URL to login/open the website, pagoda panel and so on.

If you haven't made any backups on the server side before, the data can't be recovered. If you have backed up the data in the WordPress backend using a plugin like UpdraftPlus, you can directly open a brand new server, build the pagoda panel and wordpress backend and then restore the data through a plugin like UpdraftPlus. Remember to resolve the domain name to the new server IP, the new server may be the same as the deleted server IP address.
